On behalf of the scientific committee we would like to invite psychiatric clinicians, psychiatrists, practitioners, psychiatric mental health nurses, psychologists, health scientists, educators, trainers, researchers, managers, and policymakers engaged in the management, study or treatment of aggressive behaviour of psychiatric patients and/or persons with intellectual disabilities and serious behavioural problems to the 7th European Congress on Violence in Clinical Psychiatry.
This time the congress will be held in Prague from the 19th till 22nd of October 2011. Since the first European Congress on Violence in Clinical Psychiatry – which was held in Stockholm in 1992 - the congress has expanded rapidly with regard to the number of scientific contributions and participants.
The broad multidisciplinary scope of the European Congress on Violence in Clinical Psychiatry is expressed in the various subthemes that will be addressed in Prague in 2011:

* Service user perspectives on violence
* Gender aspects of violence
* Impact and effect of coercive measures on patients
* Impact and effect of violence on staff and caregivers

* Nature, epidemiology and cross-cultural aspects of violence
* Pharmacological treatments for violent patients
* Psychological treatments, therapies & trainings for violent patients
* Risk & Strength Assessment: prediction of violence
* Specific populations: forensic
* Specific populations: intellectually disabled
* Specific populations: child & adolescent
* Specific populations: elderly
* Training and education of staff
